State Cup Game

Let’s get ready for our first state cup game against Potomac. Be focused and work hard this week at our practice sessions. Get a good night sleep and eat well on Friday night.
Make sure that we are on the field at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. State Cup requires teams to check in 1 hour before game time. The field is about an hour away for most of us, make sure that you leave early enough to be on the field on time.

Further to Sam’s note…….a good dinner the night before would be pasta, and a healthy serving of it is okay. Lean meat like turkey or chicken (not fried) with a big baked potato or rice is good if pasta is not an option. A snack like yogurt and or fruit or toast and milk before bed will help with energy in the morning too.

For breakfast, since it is early, I am stocking up on whole wheat bagels or at least the plain white ones made with some whole grain, yogurt, and strawberries. All easy to prepare and to eat fast and should not cause cramps since they are not especially high in fat or protein. I’d recommend this for all the players, and to eat about 6am to leave at least 2hrs before the game. (Fun I know – I’ll be doing the same……plus a protetin shake for me since I am just chillin on the sideline)
