Ladies,

Great weekend of soccer ladies! Once again, we are showing improvements in several areas and I believe that we will continue to improve with every game we play. Congratulations on making it to the finals and earn the 2nd place trophy at the Liberty Cup

Well done!

Despite the lousy weather the tournament turned out to be very successful. The girls played hard and I believe we reached the goal of showing the girls that they are knocking on the door in terms of consistently being competitive with this higher level of play.
Coach Sam is equally pleased with how hard the girls have played the past two weekends and since we have no games next weekend has decided to give the girls this week off practice. Many of the girls are beat from participating in multiple sports and several are nursing injuries.
Starting the week of March 22nd we will begin practicing every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00-7:30. For the remainder of March practice will be held at Lisbon Elementary (15901 Frederick Rd, Woodbine, MD, 21797). In April we will be able to practice on our regular practice field.

Many thanks again to the "Roadies" who diligently set up and took down the tent today. Special kudos to Carlo who loaded it in my car. :0)

Have a great week!

Marcy

TSC Thunder Magic-U15 WAGS

Posted by Marcy Vannoy at Nov 17, 2009 4:12PM PST

TSC Magic is a Division 4 WAGS travel team who is well respected in our age group; known for our speed and strong play as we continue to move up in our standings.

We are coached by Sam Haddad (NSCAA National Coach and USSF D License) who has been coaching since 1999 including being part of the coaching team of the TSC Maryland Pride a Women’s Semi Professional Soccer Team. Our Assistant Coach, Steve Anderson (USSF E License), rounds out the coaching team with a strong knowledge of fitness and nutrition. Both coaches’ focus on teaching many aspects of the game to include the technical and tactical aspects, game strategy, and game psychology; as well as to support the girls’ school sporting events, providing sound guidance when consulted, and contributing to the development of the girls’ character.

We believe in diversity of play, as well as, participating in challenging venues. We participate in “high level” and college showcase tournaments like the Discovery Cup, CASL, SAC Memorial Day and out of state venues; as well as playing against strong competitors in the Columbia Winter Outdoor League. Staying fit and agile between seasons is accomplished by attending Accelerate Your Game (AYG) with Alonso Ruffin.

The team has been drawn from across the four county region and each girl brings a strong presence to the field. Despite not being in the same schools or living in the same counties our diversity melds on the field as a united front. The girls also enjoy being with each other off the field and we accomplish team building through activities like snow and river tubing, campouts, and team dinners.
